TURRET POSITION TRANSMITTER AND INDICATOR

Technical Overview

The Turret Position Transmitter and Indicator (TPTI) is an electromechanical/electronic system used in armored vehicles, tanks, and weapon platforms to accurately measure, transmit, and display the angular position of the turret. It continuously monitors the turret's azimuth (horizontal rotation) and provides real-time position information to the crew, fire control system, and other onboard electronic systems.

The TPTI consists of a position transmitter (sensor/encoder) mounted on the turret mechanism and an indicator/display unit located at the operator's or commander's console. The transmitter detects the turret's rotational position and converts it into electrical signals, which are processed and displayed as the turret's angular position. The system ensures precise turret alignment, enhances target acquisition accuracy, and supports effective weapon control during combat operations.

Designed for military environments, the TPTI is rugged, highly reliable, and capable of operating under severe conditions such as shock, vibration, dust, humidity, and extreme temperatures. It plays a vital role in modern fire control and battlefield management systems by providing accurate and continuous turret position feedback.
