Defense Receivers
A conduction-cooled VPX receiver system combining RF front-end modules, SBCs and SSD storage for wideband spectrum search, monitoring, ELINT and SIGINT operations.
The Search & Monitoring Receiver is integrated within a conduction-cooled VPX chassis and consists of RF front-end modules, Single Board Computers (SBCs), Solid-State Drives (SSDs), and a Power Supply Unit (PSU) module.
Each RF front-end module receives and processes the RF input signal, generating calibrated In-phase and Quadrature (IQ) data. The processed IQ data is streamed to the SBC through a USB 3.0 interface. The SBC functions as the primary signal processing unit, performing spectrum reconstruction, IQ signal processing, demodulation, and decoding.
Both the raw IQ data and the demodulated audio can be recorded and stored on the SSD for analysis and playback. The PSU module is a DC-DC converter that provides the regulated power supplies required by the SBCs, SSDs, and other internal modules.
The SBC also hosts the server software, which communicates with a client application installed on a PC or laptop. Together, the server and client software provide complete control and monitoring of the receiver hardware, enabling efficient Search & Monitoring operations.
Wideband Signal Reception: Capable of receiving and processing a broad range of RF signals for comprehensive spectrum monitoring.
High-Speed Data Transfer: USB 3.0 interface enables fast and reliable streaming of calibrated IQ data from the RF front-end modules to the SBC.
Advanced Signal Processing: The SBC performs spectrum reconstruction, IQ processing, demodulation, and decoding with high efficiency.
Accurate Signal Analysis: Calibrated IQ data ensures precise measurement, analysis, and identification of RF signals.
Data Recording Capability: Supports storage of both raw IQ data and demodulated audio on SSDs for offline analysis, replay, and documentation.
Compact and Rugged Design: The conduction-cooled VPX chassis provides reliable operation in harsh environmental conditions without the need for fans.
Reliable Power Distribution: The integrated DC-DC PSU supplies stable power to all internal modules, improving overall system reliability.
Remote Monitoring and Control: Server-client architecture allows users to configure, monitor, and control the receiver from a PC or laptop.
Modular Architecture: VPX-based modular design simplifies maintenance, upgrades, and future expansion.
High Performance: Multiple SBCs and dedicated RF front-end modules enable real-time processing of high-bandwidth signals.
